A lot of people are unfamiliar with or have the wrong impression about pay per view marketing. Aside from a couple of private forums,
there's not a lot of information out there on the subject even though the industry has been around for ages. If you've ever logged into a CPA network and seen the contextual link and pondered it's usage, now you know one of the areas it refers to. Pay per view marketing is essentially paying per impression by utilizing traffic networks to advertise your message. Different CPA networks call it by different names - Neverblue refers to it as 'downloadable software', some refer to it as pay per view, some as pay per impression. You'll find most of the Direct Track networks like CPA Empire, Wotogepa, Clickbooth, etc refer to it as contextual. PPV networks serve ads to a user who has downloaded some form of software and agreed to see ads. There's two variants of contextual links: 1. Contextual Text: These are links that normally are displayed with dual underlines inside of some news stories that when highlighted take you to another link. It's considered a potentially less invasive form of advertising in that the user isn't slapped in the face with an ad, they have the option to be interested and make the choice. 2. Pop ups/Pop unders These ads display when a user searches a keyword and your ad is shown based on the term you bid for. Pay per view is another useful tool to add to your arsenal of SEO sites, PPC, Banner Hosting, Mobile Ads, Social Media, and a wide array of other advertising methods.

so you pay to have your site in a pop up OR you can pay to have peoples sites pop up on your site, correct? I think I need to sit down and write out a huge list of what all the abbreviated terms mean because it can seem rather overwhelming for a newb such as I was/am. An Affilates Dictionary, persay. Will begin tomorrow. Thanks Chad! Great Idea!

Right, I've even seen some sites that let you do it for free. Basically, you set it up so popups are on your site, but for doing that, your site will appear as a popup on other sites.

You could do it that way but typically most sites that are going to pay for advertising would rather just pay a fee as opposed to flooding their own site with pop ups. Pay Per View is definitely underused, this seems to the the age of PPC or Pay per Click.
