When you make your sites, do you aim more for quality, quantity, or both? I'm curious to see how people that have been doing this for a while respond. I can really see the opinions going in every way.

-Quality: Obviously quality is what gets people to read more into your sites, quality is what gets them coming back, quality is the point of web development, but is it the best way to approach affiliating?

-Quantity: Having a lot of different website might get you a better chance of getting people to stumble across one, but does it help when it comes to making money? If people look at your site and immediately navigate away from it, is that good or bad? Do most people just close the window, hit back, or do they click an ad to move on?

-Both: Is it best to make a good quality site, fill it with useful content and move on to make another? It seems much more time consuming than either of the other choices, and obviously it would be - but is it worth it? What kind of results do you get? That being said, how well does that work with sites that need information to be updated often? Do you find yourself stuck on a couple of the major projects and leave many others on the back burner? Is that a good thing or bad thing?

This is where landing pages come in. Landing pages are pages that look great and catch the eye but they really don't have a ton of content behind them. The purpose of a landing page is to get a reader to click through to your affiliate page. You do have to have some content on them though or Google will slap them down.

The thing with your question is that it really needs to be specific to give you the answer you want.

The reason for this is because I would only require quality if I wanted to make a long term project from a website. Say for example I planned to flip a website on a long term basis to maximize my income when I sell the website; I would be looking for quality more than anything else.

Now the method it looks like you are trying to do is something I have tackled before, infact when I was assisting a company we had just over 100 domains with websites set up on them covering many different niches, built solely for the purpose of generating revenue.

When you are doing that method, you need both quality and quantity, but remember: quality doesn't have to be so difficult, alot of Web Marketers use scripts that feed information from other sites, so they never have to update them manually, and then there is blogs, where the user updates the blogs for you.

The good thing about feeding from another website of the same niche as yours is that provided you choose a successful website to feed from; you know the information works.
And you needn't worry if people don't stick around on your website, as you will mainly be looking for the hits and ad clicks from the users that get channelled through your website.
